Many, many pictures!  These are from the Bourbon’s (a ruling family from Spain) royal palace in Caserta.  It was built to rival Versailles in France however, while it is bigger, it doesn’t have a hall of mirrors, so it doesn’t quite make it over Versailles awesome grandiose.  But it was extremely impressive with its thousand and something rooms, each one decorated uniquely and some dedicated solely to one specific Greek god/goddess.  The marble work (picture 8), that came out of the walls, and the floors (picture 5) were very impressive.  Unfortunately, we were unable to see the outside gardens (we ran out of time), which have several fountains.  They stretch on rather far – the idea was to build them to reach Napoli, which the Bourbons ruled at the time, however, the gardens don’t quite reach that far.  It was pretty cool, especially the family’s personal chapel which had partially been hit by bombs in WWII – several of the columns are partially broken.  One last fun fact, which I just saw on Wikipedia, apparently this palace was used to film two palaces, Queen Amidalia’s and Queen Jamilla’s, in Star Wars.  How cool is that?  (taken 2.10.2014)
