For lunch, we visited Casertavecchia, which overlooks Caserta.  The town was beautifully antique, and I was literally taken back in time.  It was as if Casertavecchia hadn’t been touched by anything modern (although, they obviously had been).  When we were taking una passeggiata through the town, we ran into a funeral.  This is what literally took me back in time.  The bells were so ominous, ringing throughout the narrow stone streets, and I could just imagine the Italians speaking in dialect rather than in Italian.  There was a procession down the hill, to, what I assume would be, the cemetery.  It was very traditional.  (taken 2.10.2014)
