On Friday, I took a short trip to see what the botanical gardens of Ferrara looked like, and how they compared to the botanical gardens of Virginia Tech.  Suffice to say, they are beautiful in their own way – a lot of the plants are water plants, interestingly enough, and they had a very big cactus exhibition.  Cacti seem to be a very big thing down here (speaking of which, I just bought a little one for my room to brighten it up a bit).  But here are just a few pictures showing what was at the gardens.  They also had a pond with several turtles in it.  There was this one baby turtle that was trying to escape to get to me.  It was very adorable!  (taken 9.26.2014)
