Another building we visited on our tour was il Castello Estense, or the Este Castle, located right near il Duomo.  It is one of the last castles in Italy that still has water within its moat (seen in middle picture), which, unfortunately, breeds lots of mosquitoes and contributes to the many bug bites I now have.  But it is a beautiful castle, and later this semester, we will be getting an in-depth tour of it.  It hosts both an official side, filled with offices and such, and a museum.  (taken 9.6.2014)
