These are various pictures taken during the CIEE tour of the city.  The first two are in the medieval section of the city, and the last two are in the Renaissance section.  Interesting fact, the second picture actually used to be the main market street of Ferrara, and the Po River used to run on the other side of it.  Now, it’s just a really small street, and the Po River has deviated quite a bit away.  The last picture is a nice green area where the annual palio occurs in May.  Il palio is a medieval festival with various events, one which includes horse racing (the most famous is in Siena), and Ferrara hosts the oldest palio in Italy.  (taken 9.6.2014)
